How It All Started in Koraput
BSE Odisha MATRIX originated as a grassroots initiative among a dedicated group of high-school teachers in Koraput district, Odisha. While preparing our classroom students for their annual board exams, we noticed a critical problem: almost all quality digital learning content on the internet was targeted exclusively at CBSE and ICSE boards, using English and Hindi.
Students studying under the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) Odisha syllabus lacked accessible, well-organized Odia-medium and bilingual study aids. We began handcrafting detailed chapter notes, recording video solutions, creating simplified mathematics formulas, and testing mnemonic memory devices directly in our school classrooms.
The results were remarkable — students who had previously struggled with complex trigonometry and science proofs began scoring top grades with confidence. What began as Xeroxed study sheets for a single school has blossomed into an all-inclusive digital portal accessed by tens of thousands of students across all 30 districts of Odisha.
